Congrats Corey!!! GREAT song. God bless y’all & Lord willing we’ll C y’all April 2nd.
We think you and your band are wonderful. Saw you in Savannah, Ga, Walhalla, SC and Gainsville, GA. Hope you’ll be coming back to Walhalla!!!By the way, we have purchased many of your CD’s.
Vivian, thanks for your suppirt, it’s much appreciated. Come see us any time we’re in or near your area.
I’m looking forward to Sat in Fulton, MS. I hope you have a fresh supply of CDs. I need the one with the nightingale song on it. You had sold out of that one when we saw you at Alex City.
Susan, DL&Q had “Hard Game Of Love” CDs with them. As long as they don’t sell out in TX, they should have them in Fulton. If they don’t, they’ll be glad to have one shipped to you and we don’t charge postage if they are out of the CD
I took Doyle and some of the guys to Morristown last night. Sadie has been sick and she didn’t get home in time for them to leave. They had to be in Birmingham, AL this morning for a live TV show, and this afternoon they are visiting and singing at a children’s hospital. They have to leave immediately to make it to TX where they have two different cities to sing in. After the festival in Argyle,TX, they have to be back in MS Saturday to sing at the National Anthem at 1PM at a Univ of MS basketball game and the on to Fulton, MS to sing that evening. Sunday is a travel day and they do another TV show in Nashville on Monday. I think Doyle may get home for clean clothes on Tuesday and they leave again Wednesday.
I know that prayers to God keep them safe, and I thank each of you who pray for them.
At our church we’ve been asked to voluntarily pray through our church directory for the people who appear there each week. Prayer is a wonderful gift from God. That sounds like a song I know!
I’m gonna see you guys tonight in Argyle. I’m a huge DL&Q fan. This will be my 5th time to see you guys person. Can’t wait!
My husband and I love your music. We’ve seen you many times most recently in Newberry SC. I was interested in the smaller size upright bass instrument your bass player uses. Can you give me any info on where they are available? Looking forward to seeing you agina in this neck of the woods when you are here. God speed on your travels!
Elizabeth, the bass is called an Eminence electric upright. Gary Bartig in Minneapolis, Minnesota is the builder. You can Google eminence electric upright and you’ll find the website.
Corey
Elizabeth, I beleive that Doyle may be interested in selling his Eminence if you are interested.
Yes we would be interested. Is it a 4 or 5 string? You could email me with more info if you’d prefer to do it that way. Thanks for your’s and Corey’s reply!
Elizabeth, send me your e-mail address and I will fill you in on the details. It’s an excellent bass but not using it anymore and it needs to be with someone who will play it.
Email is emcann.cann@gmail.com. Look forward to hearing from you. Wish well on your travel this weekend!
I would like to know where Mountain View Missonary Baptist Church is located. I like the song and want to know if it is a real church with old time worship.
Deke, there are several Mountain View Missionary Baptist churches around. One I saw first hand Is on highway 70 near Rockwood, TN.
Today is Mike Rogers birthday. Mike has been on a long long journey today on his birthday.
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Mike
Happy birthday to you.
Happy Birthday Michael! Hope you had two great shows today and can’t wait to see you tomorrow!
Rachel, did Mike get his favorite cake for his birthday? Doyle said it was chocolate and good.
It was amazing!!!
Sad to see Doyle going the way of the Grand Old Opry. Guess he never heard the song “Murder On Music Row” and how it represents bogus country music. Try to add drum(s)to bluegrass and what do you get? Absolutely NOTHING…just like oil and water…they don’t mix… i.e. AKSU, Scaggs and others who defect. Why do decent bluegrass artist try to kill the “Real Thing”? True bluegrass performers and fans know the difference. They can hear it and they can see it…what a tragedy. Hopefully real bluegrass can continue on by not supporting counterfiet bluegras in any way. So long Doye and all others others who would pervert the pure string sounds of bluegrass.
Patrick, thanks for your input regarding drums.in bluegrass. Perhaps you haven’t noticed but many of our pioneering bluegrass artist used drums on their recordings. That includes Flatt and Scruggs, Jimmy Martin, Jim and Jesse, Mac Wiseman and The Osborne Brothers. Bill Monroe recorded with an electric guitar, organ and accordian. The Stanley Brothers recorded with a pedal steel.
I realize one can’t be all things to all people but thus far the folks who hear the snare and kick in my music support it with an overwhelming majority. As in all of my instruments ,the drums are controled by microphones so we can blend them with everything else. It’s not my intention to offend anyone but to try and broaden the base of the music overall. And let me say this, my music is not perverting anything, it’s just not to your liking.
I love drums! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Patrick
I don’t mean to offend you or to stir up a hornets nest but I think you were wrong in accusing Doyle of “going the way of the Opry.” He is just trying something a little bit different in his music and there have been at least 3 songs that hes recorded that feature some form of percussion in them. Doyle has years and years of experience in producing and arranging music and he knows what to do good enough without you bashing him. If you are a fan then support him and if you can’t say anything good then please keep your comments to yourself.
Doyle,
The Bressler Brothers are not playing Saturday night, so Kathryn & I will be at the Rogers in Poplar Bluff. Looking forward to visiting with you again!
Alvin
Alvin, I look forward to seeing you and Kathryn as it’s always a joy to see dear friends that you don’t see often enough. See you then.
just wanted to say “what a pleasure!” it was to meet all of you in Longview. Randy and I were truly impressed with the concert. Mr. Lawson, it showed real respect to take off your hat before singing the gospel set. My parents really enjoyed themselves and found all of you to be so personable. Josh Trivett, glad to put a face with a name finally. Be safe in your travels and know that you all are in our prayers for continued blessings and good health. What you are doing is bringing so much joy to so many at one time – the Lord has truly smiled on each of you – with much love, Teresa Moore, Panola, TX
I have been a Doyle Lawson fan for over 30 years.I think Corey is one of, if not the best lead singer you have had.I hope you throw those drums in a river.I love all you guys. Thanks Robert Cook
I like to swim!!!!! hahhaha
Thank you Robert, I sure appreciate the kind words. Come see us soon hopefully we can change your mind on the drums…I think you’ll be pleasantly suprised!
Corey
I enjoyed the concert at ICC in Fulton, MS this past Sat. As usual I picked up several CD’s. I always think it is interesting to see which ends up being my favorite song on an album. It is usually a different song than the one I chose the album for. My favorite one on the He Lives In Me disc turns out to be The End of the Road #8. It is just beautiful. Pass the box of tissues.
I am a great fan of Doyle Lawson´s gospel- music. I have
about 14 of his Cd´s. They are very good. I would enjoy
if would come to germany to play his music in concerts.
I always recommend his music to my friends an some of them love his music too.
Friedrich Müller
Friedrich, we will ve playing in Germany this year in mid May. Please refer to our tour dates for more info!
