  1. All roads should lead to Nashville this week. If you can’t join us, the Awards Show can be watched on the Internet:
LIVE Awards Show To Be Aired Online! Fan Fest Taped for PBS-TV
A longtime goal of IBMA membership has been to televise the International Bluegrass Music Awards—recognized throughout the music industry as one of the highest-quality live music award shows in the nation.
Taking a Neil Armstrong-size step in that direction, IBMA has announced plans for a streaming video broadcast of the 23rd annual show September 27 at 7:30 p.m. (CST) simultaneously on BluegrassNation.org and BluegrassToday.com, live from the historic stage of the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
The program will air once on both websites at no charge to viewers, but visitors to BluegrassNation.org will have the option to make a $5-10 donation in a virtual PayPal tip jar to help cover expenses. Co-sponsor Bluegrass Today is planning some pre-event programming at 6:45 p.m. (CST) with red-carpet video footage from the BMI Nominees Reception held earlier in the evening. The production team from Music City Roots will film the IBMA Awards for broadcast. The Nashville-based program streams live weekly on Wednesday nights at http://www.musiccityroots.com.
“Bluegrass Today is excited to be part of the first live streaming of the IBMA Awards,” said the web-based publication’s editor, John Lawless. “We have the utmost confidence in the team at Music City Roots, and are confident that online viewers worldwide will enjoy being able to watch the awards in real time. It’s less than a month away!”
“We are thrilled to be able to offer the live streaming broadcast of the IBMA Awards this year, in addition to the live audio broadcast on Sirius XM Satellite Radio, WSM-AM and wsmonline.com,” said IBMA executive director Nancy Cardwell. “A few of the best seats in the house are still available at the Ryman by calling 888-GET-IBMA or going to http://www.ibma.org to order tickets if you can be here in person. But for those members and fans literally scattered around the globe, we’re extremely happy to be able to invite you to see and hear the show online as it takes place in Nashville.”
Bluegrass Today, The Boston Bluegrass Union, and VisitRaleigh.com are co-sponsoring the show
