  1. Dear Mr. Lawson,
We are an Ottawa based bluegrass band, The Dusty Drifters, and we are trying to obtain permission to record “Heart of A Little Mountain Girl”. Could you please put us in contact with the person who handles your publishing rights, as we would like to obtain a licence to record it, but the CMRRA does not represent your publisher.
    Thank you ! John Steele

  2. I wish you all the best. I just saw you in Parsons, WV and as always….WOW. Congratulations on another milestone. YOU’RE THE BEST.

  3. Dear Doyle, I would like to congratulate you on your success. I was wondering if you would consider donating your time on Sat.Oct.6,2012 from 11:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. For a benefit for my sister who has breast cancer. I realize that this is a very big request and this is how you make your living, but,I could only imagine how it would be if we could have someone as large as your group at our benefit. I only ask that you pray about it, but also pray for our family in our time of need. I thank you for your time and will continue to support you by listening to your music. God Bless You, G.L. Sparks

    • Dl&Q is already booked on October 6th, in Manteo, NC. They won’t be able to do the benefit. We will all pray for your family.

  4. Attended Athens, OH. fair specifically to hear you and the group sing and play. I wasn’t disappointed – great music and a spiritual blessing. I would have liked to have met you afterwards as my cousin from Tennesse said that he was told that you are a 3rd or 4th cousin to Elmer Johnson, (Minnie & Maxey). My Dad (Robert Mc Niel) was born in Sneedville, Tenn. Whether related or not, your music is special. Thank you!

    • You’re welcome to send your songs. When he has time, Doyle will listen and if he chooses a song to record, you will hear from him. Otherwise, he doesn’t offer critiques. Since it’s their busy time, I would suggest that you wait until October to send them. He isn’t really in the listening mode right now. PO Box 3141, Bristol, TN 37625
