Joe Dean joins Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver

Banjo player Joe Dean has joined Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver. Doyle commented:

I have been admiring Joe Dean’s skills as a young gun in this business. Over the past few years, I have grown to truly admire the combination of his creative banjo style and his traditional vocal prowess. I have had my eye on Joe Dean for quite some time and I am so pleased he has committed to joining Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver. He will bring a new and exciting energy to our efforts. To me, this feels like a new beginning!

Joe said he was “very excited about this opportunity,” having “admired Doyle’s style of music since I was a kid.” He added:

I can’t wait to be a part of one of the greatest bands in bluegrass history, and share the stage with a legend like Doyle Lawson.

  1. I don’t believe I have ever seen a photograph of Doyle that wasn’t absolutely wonderful. He is absolutely wonderful and that comes through clearly in any picture of him; even when you can’t hear his music.

    • We obviously try to choose the best photos of Doyle to “put out there”! I have a few stashed back that I know he would rather stayed hidden. But you know, he takes a good photo, and I think it’s because he’s had so many taken of him. He looks pretty much the same way even in our family photos! He is pretty wonderful, though I’m not particularly objective. :-)

  2. Hi Guys, Sharon and I wanted to see you all in Cave City and Shepherdsville, but a family emergency prevented it.Emergency is over. As for Jessie, he is a fine young man and musician. His Lester Flatt routine is a riot.We wish him the best. We will catch up with you soon….Bill Bellan
