Mike Rogers

Mike Rogers was born on March 5th in 1974 to Tom and Lois Rogers. Tom was a great musician/singer and Mike soon found out that he was blessed with the same gifts. At age 5, he picked up his first guitar and never looked back. At age 9, he started honing in his skills on the drums. By the age of 12, Mike was joining his father on stage, playing drums and singing tenor. Soon after turning 18, Mike hit the stage with country artist Charlie Floyd for nearly 2 years before heading over to the Carolina Opry. He spent 8 great years at the Carolina Opry until he heard Nashville calling his name. Country sensation Kevin Denney called Mike to play drums and sing tenor and he enjoyed almost 2 years as part of Denney’s band. During this time, Mike’s skills as a song writer started to vastly develop. He started writing with Denney, along with close friends Jimmy Fortune, Craig Morgan, Tom Botkin and many other seasoned writers. In 2003, Mike took the gig with Country star Craig Morgan, acting as band leader, while playing drums and singing tenor. During his tenure with Craig, Mike had developed into quite a song writer, and from his pen, the smash country hit “Bonfire” was written. In 2010, Mike was honored by ASCAP for Bonfire being the most air played country song that year. It was apparent that Mike was very successful with Craig and that he loved playing drums, but his heart had always been in bluegrass, being that his father played fiddle and sang high lonesome tenor. It was in his blood. In September of 2010, Mike hit the stage with Doyle Lawson and instantly people took notice. Playing with Doyle is a dream come true for Mike, and he is so excited to be a part of Quicksilver and now knows where his home is. Mike is married to his high school sweetheart, Rachel, and they have two girls, Molly and Sara. They reside in Greenbrier Tennessee and attend church at Lights Chapel Baptist Church. From an anointed voice to an anointed pen, Mike is a welcome addition to Quicksilver and we can’t wait to see what happens next…
